OnStar vs. AAA However, My 2006 Subaru Tribeca has no similar coverage, and I am considering a AAA membership for $69 for my wife and I. Unlike OnStar's plan, AAA covers the member rather than the vehicle, so AAA would provide roadside assistance for either car, as well as any other car I am driving or a passenger within.
Re: Time to renew AAA...or switch to Onstar? When the OnStar expired after the first free year in my last Vue, I didn't intend on renewing it due to the cost. But after about two months of being expired, OnStar offered me a discount.
Re: OnStar vs. AAA I just reviewed my automobile insurance policy declaration, and it does not indicate anything about towing coverage. I obviously need to contact my broker to make sure that there is actually towing in the event of an accident or loss, let alone the possibility of coverage for a breakdown.
